Edward Melville, MA, LMHC, is a licensed counselor in Mount Dora who helps individuals with divorce, relationships, and addiction in a respectful, supportive space.
I’m Edward Melville, a licensed mental health counselor in Mount Dora, FL, with more than a decade of experience providing individual and couples therapy for adults. My passion is helping men navigate life’s challenges, including divorce recovery, addiction, relationship struggles, and questions of identity or purpose.
Therapy can feel intimidating, and people are often hesitant to seek help. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can be heard without judgment and begin taking meaningful steps toward healing and growth.
My Approach to Therapy
I use a practical, evidence-based approach tailored to each client’s needs. This may include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Building skills for emotion regulation and resilience.
Solution-Focused Therapy: Identifying strengths and achievable goals.
Motivational Interviewing: Encouraging positive change and personal growth.
What You Can Expect in Our First Session
Your first session is about building trust. You can expect to be listened to with compassion and accepted without judgment. As our work together continues, I will support you in taking emotional risks, trying out new perspectives, and practicing mental and behavioral skills that extend beyond the therapy room.
As an Orthodox Christian, my personal faith shapes my values of compassion, humility, and respect. At the same time, I welcome and work with clients from all faiths—or none at all. Every client deserves a safe and accepting environment, and my role is to support your growth from wherever you are in life.
Whether you’re working through relationship struggles, overcoming addiction, or rebuilding after life’s setbacks, therapy can be a turning point. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in that process.
